What German buyers usually ask for

Large German companies have supply chain due-diligence obligations under the Lieferkettensorgfaltspflichtengesetz (LkSG). Since 1 January 2024 the law covers companies with 1,000 or more employees in Germany, and these companies often pass requirements to their suppliers by contract. In practice German buyers frequently ask for:

  • Information on the production site and any subcontractors
  • Social compliance and health & safety information
  • Certificates with their exact product scope
  • Clear chemical compliance for the EU market

Our current certificates, with numbers, issuing bodies, validity dates and product scopes, are listed on our Certificates page.

Shipping and lead time

Production lead time is the same for every market: samples take 7–10 days and bulk production 3–5 weeks, depending on quantity and approvals. Transit time on top of that depends on the shipping method you choose; ask your forwarder for a door-to-door estimate.

What to send with your enquiry

  • Tech pack, sketch or reference garment
  • Quantity per style and size split
  • Fabric and wash direction
  • Label language and any retailer requirements in Germany
